Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature Boosts Health Occupations Student and Faculty Research

Librarians introduced VU’s Health Occupation Students to a new electronic research source this semester that greatly increases their abilities to search and retrieve published medical information for coursework.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the world's most comprehensive source of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 560 journals indexed in CINAHL. Of those, nearly 400 have cover-to-cover indexing in CINAHL, and of those, more than 230 are not available with full text from any other EBSCO database.

This authoritative file contains full text for many of the most used journals in the CINAHL index - with no embargo. With more than 600,000 full-text articles dating back to 1937, CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the definitive research tool for all areas of nursing and allied health literature.

To Access CINAHL:

• Go to the library home page at http://www.vinu.edu (click Academic Resources, then VU Libraries)
• Click the Find Articles heading.
• Click the link titled EBSCOhost (INSPIRE).
• From the list, select the CINAHL database
• Use either Basic or Advanced Searching and type in your search terms.
• If using Advanced Search unclick the Suggest Search Terms Box unless needed.
